Family Service of Rhode Island (FSRI) provides a seamless web of quality, innovative and transformative services to approximately 9,000 children and adults annually in communities throughout Rhode Island. Family Service of Rhode Island (FSRI) was founded in 1892 as the "Providence Society for Organizing Charity." The original objectives were to reduce pauperism, secure relief from poverty and assist the poor to become self-supporting. In other words, helping people to help themselves. Their BeSafe program is distributing kits containing antibacterial soap, disinfecting wipes, alcohol-based hand sanitizers, food and grocery supplies and other items that socially isolated seniors, adults with chronic illnesses and disabilities, families with children, and others desperately need right now to protect themselves and reduce the rate of COVID-19 transmission. FSRI is doing curbside delivery of these kits across the state.
